Intergenerational March Kicks Off from Huatoki Plaza – 1st October 2025
Age Concern Taranaki is thrilled to announce an inspiring community event to mark a very special occasion – 1st October, recognised globally as the International Day of the Older Person.
This important day is dedicated to honouring the contributions of older people and raising awareness of the opportunities and challenges associated with ageing in today’s world. What better way to celebrate than with a vibrant, joyful Intergenerational March right here in New Plymouth!
“This is a joyful opportunity to show how ageing can be a time of vitality, purpose and connection,” says Age Concern Taranaki’s event team. “We want the plaza filled with families, friends, schools, workplaces, and community groups – all walking together to honour our older citizens.”
